Yukon Solitaire is a type of solitaire whose gameplay is very similar to that of klondike solitaire, it is a single-player game that is played with a 52-card deck. The game is an interesting one, and it is also easy to play and understand.

OBJECTIVES OF YUKON SOLITAIRE 

 The main aim of the game is to move all the cards from the tableau to the foundation in the same suits and ascending order, the cards are moved to the foundation from ace to king.

These cards are arranged in each their respective suit of cards, for example, club card 2 will be placed in the suit created for club cards. We have four different aces of cards; club, diamond, hearts, and spades.

PILES IN YUKON SOLITAIRE

In this game, there are two types of piles which are the tableau and the foundation pile. In other versions, there are stock and waste piles but for this game, there is no need for these two piles.

The Tableau

In this pile, there is seven-column which cards are dealt to build a tableau. In the seven columns, there are face-down cards and face-up cards.

In this version of the solitaire game, cards can be moved even if they are not in sequence or in alternating colors which is not common among solitaire games.

The Foundation

This pile has four free columns which represent the suits of cards: Club, Spades, Diamonds, and, Hearts. Each card is moved to its respective suit while playing the game.

CARD LAYOUT

In setting up the Yukon Solitaire game, this game is played using a 52card deck that is arranged in seven-column in the tableau exempting the two joker cards. The cards in each column increase from left to right, just one column has no card facedown, and the rest of the six columns have cards that are dealt face down. The tableau arrangement is explained below:

  •  The first column has one card that is dealt face-up.
  • The second column has six cards with five cards face up and one card face down.
  • The third column has seven cards with five cards face up and two cards face down.
  • The fourth pile has eight cards with five cards face up and three cards face down.
  • The fifth pile has nine cards with five cards face up and four cards face down.
  • The sixth pile has ten cards with five cards face up and five cards face up.
  • The seventh pile has eleven cards with five cards face up and six cards face down.When the tableau has been completed, you will create four empty piles for each suit of the card which is called the foundation.

  • The top cards at the base of the tableau are available to play. i.e The face-up cards.
  • When moving cards in the tableau, it doesn’t have to be in sequence but the column you are moving the cards to has to be in sequence and alternating colors.
  • Do not empty a tableau except if you have a king to fill in the free column. Only a king card can start another column that you have emptied.
  • Move your aces to the foundation in suits as soon as you see them.
  • Try to unveil all the face-down cards to increase your winning chances.
  • The cards on top can be moved to another tableau if they are in sequence and alternating colors. A black 7 card can be moved to a column where there is a red eight card.
  • You can only move a group of cards that aren’t in descending or ascending order, just one card cannot be moved to a column that the face-up card is not in sequence with it.

If you successfully move all the cards in the tableau to the foundation then you have the won game, if you cannot move any more cards to the tableau then the Yukon solitaire game is considered lost.
